2. Château Frontenac and Terrasse Dufferin | #1 Place to visit

When you visit Quebec City, the head-honcho of attractions is the Château Frontenac and the Terrasse Dufferin. Built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company during the late 19th century, the hotel was intended to appeal to wealthy travellers and encourage luxury tourism. Today, the Château still towers over Old Town Quebec City and draws patrons from around the world. The funicular is a cable car that ascends and descends the steep hill that separates the upper and lower town of Old Quebec. The short ride, for a small price, saves you the trouble of heading up the Breakneck Stairs. Enjoy a magnificent view of Old Quebec and the ships on the Saint-Lawrence river as you go up or down! 11. Take a wintery walk in the snow

La Bûche is a wonderful spot for all things traditionally Quebecois. You’ll feel right at home it it’s rustic and eclectic interior, which makes for the perfect atmosphere to savour their delightful and unique Tourtière.
Aux Anciens Canadiens also offers a wide list of traditional dishes, so you can have meat pie prepared in the style of either Grandma or Grandpa (who adds wild meats)!

La semaine de la poutine. L’événement culinaire le plus attendu de l’année, mettant en vedette l’authentique plat québécois, rassemble de nombreux restaurants des villes de Québec, Montréal, Toronto et même jusqu’à l’international dans une compétition amicale mais décidément pas à prendre à la légère!

L’an dernier, la poutine mac n’ cheese du Bonnet d’âne a été un de nos coups de coeurs, et elle revient cette année en version améliorée avec… wait for it… full bacon! On a de grandes attentes ici.

2. Bello Ristorante

L’image nous a vendu! Ainsi que la fondue au parmesan. Et l’accord poutine/vin. Et… vous voyez le genre.

3. Table

Le restaurant Table de l’Hôtel Pur nous surprend de plus en plus avec ses expérimentations culinaires. Le cornichon frit risque de remporter beaucoup de points.

4. Griendel

C’est la première participation à la poutine week pour ce nouveau resto de Saint-Sauveur et ils débutent en force avec une poutine d’inspiration Acadienne. On peut dire qu’ils nous ont déjà pris par les papilles et les sentiments en incluant un galopin de bière avec ça.

5. La Souche

Le grand gagnant «choix du public» de la Poutine Week édition 2015 revient cette année et souhaite à nouveau nous en mettre plein la panse avec rien que de bonnes choses bien grasses. Saucisse couverte de bacon, quelqu’un? Un gros plus aussi pour le verre de bière inclus (le midi seulement)!

6. La Grolla

La Grolla, resto suisse, s’approprie notre met national et en fait ce qu’il fait le mieux: une fondue au fromage.

7. Le Versa

Le Versa a toujours été dans nos préférés avec leur sens de l’innovation et leur produits frais. Pas de surprise donc s’ils nous surprennent encore cette année en remplaçant les traditionnelles frites par des gnocchis. On a hâte d’y goûter!

8. La Korrigane

9. District Saint-Joseph

Petit dernier sur la scène culinaire de la basse-ville, le District St-Joseph nous dévoile une vision de la poutine plus classique mais tout de même «su’a coche». Bienvenue dans la cours des grands!

10. Fromagerie des Grondines

On ne devrait pas faire de chouchous, mais… ce n’est pas un secret que que la Fromagerie des Grondines fait partie de nos établissements favoris. À peine arrivée sur le menu de leur nouveau coin à manger, leur poutine régulière est déjà un incontournable. Parions que celle-là va casser la baraque.

11. La Bûche

Les attentes étaient élevées pour ce resto qui vante ses racines québécoises. Bonne nouvelle, elles sont comblées! Ça ne sera pas doux pour le cœur, mais certainement bon dans ’djeule.

12. L’Accent

Avec des ingrédients qui parlent par eux-mêmes, c’est rien de moins qu’une grosse bouchée du Québec que l’Accent nous propose en 2016.

13. Le Cercle

Ce vétéran de la scène culinaire de Saint-Roch réussit toujours à nous épater avec ses idées actuelles. Cette année, c’est l’abondance de bœuf qui retient toute notre attention.

14. Le Sam Bistro évolutif

La dernière mais non la moindre, l’audacieuse #vladpoutine (emoji pouce en l’air) du bistro du Château Frontenac est plus qu’une bonne excuse pour aller jouer les touristes d’un jour (ou d’une semaine) dans le Vieux Québec.

Il suffit de dire que la description nous intrigue pas mal.

Une poutine au Chili qui vous est présenté comme une terrine. Deux étages de fromage en grain, un chili bœuf à l’effiloché de porc fumé maison, le tout enfouit dans une purée de pomme de terre Yukon gold au cheddar fort. Le lingot est ensuite pané et doré au four. Servi avec une sauce BBQ faite avec notre ale doré, la Maneki Neko et garni d’oreilles de cris*.
