Join our passionate and knowledgeable local guides to uncover some of Montréal’s most enticing bits of history, visual treats, and tasty bites in a unique and interactive way that's enjoyable for visitors and locals alike. We conduct our tours with a sustainable tourism ethos, aiming to disrupt daily life in the community as little as possible while ensuring equitable wages for all of our tour guides. You'll leave with a full heart, mind and of course, a full stomach!

Tasting Locations

  1. Crew Collective & Café - We begin the tour at one of Montréal's historic banks, and enjoy a delicious smoked salmon bagel at the spectacular converted cafe and co-working space.
  2. Épicerie Le Beau Marché - We taste local cheeses and charcuteries in a french owned little grocery store
  3. La Catrina restaurant -We savor the exquisite taste of a Nopales Taco, a specialty from the family's owner
  4. Franklin's Subs Suds - It is now time for poutine! And we go all in with a Smoke Meat Poutine - Vegetarian options available
  5. Chez Potier Patisserie - One of the best hidden gem of Old Montreal. We will taste a Canelés, a speciality from the house
  6. Bistro-Brasserie Soeurs Grises - We finish with a grande finale, Old Montreal's best craft brewery. We have a small size glass of beer. Cheers!

What to expect from the Old Montréal Food & Drink Tour?

One-of-a-Kind Food Tastings — This 3-hour guided walking tour brings you on a culinary voyage through Montréal’s historic district. We walk through European-style cobblestone streets to five different tasting locations, stopping at historic landmarks. Three of our tasting locations are sit-down restaurants. They range from an outstanding mexican restaurant, to a café serving a classic Montréal bagel topped with salmon. Two traditional Québécois tastings are included along the way while you discover and savour Montréal’s history. In between food tastings, we learn about Montréal’s culture and history, through its old and not-so-old buildings, in a fresh Local Montréal Tour way!

Historic & Cultural Experience — Walking through the narrow cobblestone streets of Old Montréal, you will have the chance to relax and take in old-world charm, as your guide leads you to the district’s richest historic spots. Old Montréal is an excellent example of the city’s English and French heritage, which we discuss and observe by visiting various important landmarks. Our tour provides you with a unique way of discovering these landmarks, as our local guides share their first-hand experience of these cultures. They will share the stories behind the Old Port, Notre Dame Basilica (we do not enter the church), public squares and more. You’ll even get an idea of how these stories relate to today’s culture.
