WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE OLD MONTREAL EVENING FOOD & DRINK TOUR?

One-of-a-kind Food and Drink Tastings — On this 2.5-hour long walking tour, we visit 4 unique tasting locations and discover the historic district of Old Montreal under the setting sun. The dishes sampled range from a decadent salad to a twist on a Quebec classic: poutine. We also pick up gluten free brownies along the way and pair them with craft beer brewed at the final location. Meanwhile, guests get a sense of the city’s rich history. We walk past enchanting buildings and even explore a hidden courtyard. All food tastings are included in the ticket price. For more details on the tasting locations, please see the column to the right.

Historic & Cultural Experience  As the tour takes you around the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, you’ll get a chance to experience the authentic relationships between the tasting locations and locals, the people and places. Famous landmarks and contemporary restaurants reveal the layers of history in the area, and together with the guide’s stories connecting past and present, you’ll see how the two are interwoven to create the city as it is today. Not only will you learn about the city, but also the people in it; including the stories behind the restaurants we visit, about historical figures, and even the guide’s own background. They fill the tour with their own insider knowledge of Montreal. The Old Montreal Evening Food & Drink Tour is a cultural experience that ties the city’s present-day love of food and drink to its historic roots with stops including the Maison de Mère d’Youville and a view of iconic Habitat 67.

Have questions? Here's the most frequently asked.

  • → What is the difference between the evening and day tours in Old Montreal?

Both tours give you a unique and exciting look at Old Montreal. They take you to a couple of the same food stops, too, but the evening tour runs at a slightly slower pace. It covers less ground but allows you to savour what's on offer at fine dining establishments without feeling rushed. Its duration and timing allow it to fit more easily into the schedule of those who work, and its additional focus on drinks makes it perfect for unwinding as a group, while still providing a rich and stimulating activity.

While children and youth under the age of 18 are not permitted on the Old Montreal Evening Tour, they can enjoy the daytime option as well as the Evening Mile End Tour.
