7+ Best Places to Watch the Montreal Fireworks This Summer
Montreal is home to the largest fireworks competition in the world! The Loto-Québec International Fireworks Competition illuminates the Montreal sky every year between June and August. Leading pyrotechnic firms from around the world compete over the course of several weeks for 30 minutes on warm summer nights, much to the delight of local Montrealers and visitors alike. Head to one of the suggested locations below and see the sky lit-up with delightful eruptions of light!
10. Village au Pied-du-Courant
With its special fire nights, which include a $5 cover fee, and stunning views of the fireworks, this location has become a popular spot for firework viewings. Situated near the Jacques Cartier Bridge and accessible by metro from Papineau Station, it hosts various events throughout the summer (June to September) and is also dog-friendly.

9. The Mount-Royal Summit
Climb or drive up to the top of Mount-Royal and enjoy a glorious view of the city in addition to the fireworks. If you’re in the downtown area, you can reach the stairs that lead up to the summit on Pins avenue between Peel and Drummond streets. It’s worth a trip to this iconic lookout even when there aren’t fireworks going on: see the sun rise or set for the ultimate romantic experience.
8. The Jacques-Cartier Bridge
Feeling a bit more adventurous? Did you know you can walk on the bridge to enjoy the fireworks? With it being closed for car traffic during these special evenings and by tuning in to the firework’s competition special radio station, it is a perfect spot to watch.
7. The Old Port
This is a classic destination for firework viewing. Expect a crowd of people staring in awe at the light show in the sky. This area has the added bonus of offering great snacks while you feast your eyes. There’s a Ben & Jerry’s, Dairy Queen and Café-Terrasse Chez Catherine where you can buy an ice cream cone. A myriad of food trucks are usually stationed in the Old Port during fireworks. You can also hop on La Grande Roue de Montreal to catch the fireworks from up in the sky!

With a prime location for watching the fireworks and enjoying views of the Old Port, this spot is very popular for the show! On special nights, they offer premium packages for groups of 2 to 4 people, which include oysters and a bottle of champagne. You can also enjoy the fireworks with a general admission fee without opting for a premium package. Please note that general admission starts at 8 PM on fireworks evenings, and no reservations are available, so it’s best to arrive early to secure a spot.

4. Old Port of Montreal’s Clock Tower Beach
With a perfect view of Île Sainte-Hélène, they host special evening parties called “The Sky Belongs to the DJ” during the fireworks shows. For $15 per person (tax included), you can access this exclusive spot reserved for adults 18 and over. Please note that tickets are only available online, and they are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, as the event takes place rain or shine.

Head to the 45th and 46th floor of the Place Ville-Marie building near Square Victoria metro. At the top, you’ll find the best 360 degree view of the city. Kick off your night of dancing on Sky’s rooftop terrace. There’s no cover charge to access the rooftop, which is open every night barring bad weather. Head over to Ile Sainte-Hélène, get a day pass ticket to LaRonde at around 65$, and let an exciting day turn into an exhilarating night at the LaRonde stadium on the water. There’s no better way to end a day at an amusement park than to see the fireworks from the spot they are launched from!
